Suvarnabhumi Airport (IATA Code BKK) is Bangkok’s main and busiest airport. Covering 3,240 hectares (8,000 acres) this extensive airport is one of the largest in Southeast Asia. It opened in September 2006 and at the time was the largest passenger terminal ever constructed. Suvarnabhumi Airport is pronounced “sue-wahn-ah-poom”.

Phuket International Airport (IATA Code HKT) is Thailand’s third business airport. There are now three terminals, Terminal 2 used for International flights, Terminal 3 open for domestic flights, and Terminal X which is use for charter flight operations. Altogether, the airport processed 17 million passengers in 2017 (2.9m in 1997 and 5.7m in 2007, reflecting the huge growth in popularity of the island of Phuket as a major tourist destination. The Airport is located at the north of the Island, 32 kilometers form Phuket City and an hour’s journey form the major resort town of Patong. Samui International Airport ท่าอากาศยานสมุย (IATA: USM, ICAO: VTSM) is a privately owned airport on the Island of Koh Samui. The airport was built by and for Bangkok Airways, and opened in 1989. Samui Airport is near the Big Buddha Pier where boats and ferries leave for Ko Pha Ngan, and is a just few kms away from Maenam Beach Pier where there are boats to Ko Tao and Chumphon.
